I'm not sure how current this website is. However, I thought I needed to post something to confirm what is being said. I had an experience that was very similar to that outlined above. It also involved Tobias and was for damage that was barely visible. After a hard fought battle, I got my money back by taking them to the small claim court. For details see: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1322563

I work or rather worked for Europcar in Adelaide and I highly recommend you DO NOT rent through Europcar Adelaide. I amazed you didn't get a bill for damage on the truck. The state manager one Peteina Hall has her airport manager one Tobias Stolle pick over the vehicles an charge all fair ware and tear as new damage, I have personally watched him charge for a ding do shallow that of you werent at the right angle and in the right light it was invisible.
Europcar's standing police is to charge regardless and let the clients fight for there money back. Melbourne have a NO DAMAGE policy then relocate cars to Adelaide so Tobias car charge the damage. If we the rental officers take the time to inspect the cars with the clients we are balled out by Petrina.
Be very weary when renting any car and my best advice is that once they have taken an imprint of your credit card call your bank and cancel the card, I had a phone call last week from a lady had a 2000 charge from Europcar Adelaide applied to her card 3 months after her rental was finalized. Fraud is fraud and I am activly using my last two weeks in the Adelaide airport to gather as much evidence as possible to present to the ACCC
